Pro-Cast Products is a Precast/Prestressed concrete manufacturer in Highland, California. We are currently looking for someone that is PCI Level II Certified to take on the role of Quality Control Manager at this facility.
The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for a crew of 4 precast concrete inspectors/technicians. This individual must apply experience and sound judgment to ensure that production is producing product according to project plans/drawings and components are manufactured to the highest standards. They will also work closely with production and engineering departments to prevent issues from occurring and to resolve them when they do occur. The QCM is responsible for making sure that QC Inspectors/Technicians are performing their jobs correctly and to the designated specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with upper management to formulate and maintain quality control procedures and processes.
- Coordinate objectives with production to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Direct quality control inspections and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
- Implement quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
- Communicate with contract personnel concerning questions or concerns with drawings or details.
- Prepare plant for Caltrans and other facility audits.
- Pre and post pour testing and problem solving during the mixing and pouring process when necessary.
- Produce concrete samples and participate in casting of mock-up panel.
- Cured Concrete Testing when necessary or short-handed.
- Embed Inspection
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Track sample fabrication
- Review stressing calculations
- Inspect panels in the yard, noting appearance and overall quality, making sure needed repairs are made.
- Work with production daily on improving overall quality by communicating observations.
- Provide support to Engineering Department as required.
- Review drawings of pieces to be produced daily.
- Keep records of all materials received and panels produced and produces quality control reports when necessary.
- Respond to customer or engineering requests.
- Input information into Caltrans' DIME website.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Control
- Advanced math skills
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering documents
- PCI Level I&II certification required
- ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1
- ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician
- Ability to identify and solve pouring issues
- Ability to identify and participate in the solution for repeat casting problems
- Ability to diagnose and remedy concrete strength or consistency problems
- Must be skilled in using computer and Excel and Word software
- Strong problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in a plant construction environment with extended periods of walking and standing..
- Requires outdoor work in all weather.
