The PT Front Desk Assistant shall be the initial point of contact for all Fairgrounds related inquiries and provide exemplary customer service over the phone, via email and in person to all patrons, sponsors, vendors, and employees.
Provide face-to-face customer service to visitors entering the Welcome Center.
Answer incoming calls in a timely, accurate and friendly manner.
Direct calls to the appropriate department.
Work closely with the Executive Assistant to ensure the needs of the Executive Director are fulfilled.
Provide administrative support to all employees, as needed.
The hours for this position will mainly be Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-12:30 pm, with occasional (but rare) weekends and some flexibility in case additional coverage is needed. Candidates must be available to work all 12 days of the annual Florida State Fair.
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One to two years of customer service experience required.
Strong clerical and organizational skills.
Excellent customer service skills in person and on the phone and a helpful and friendly demeanor.
Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products with an emphasis in Word and Excel.
Must have a strong ability to multitask and prioritize day to day responsibilities.
Must work well under pressure and display the aptitude to make sound decisions.
Ability to work additional hours during the busy season, including evenings and weekends.
