Milhouse Engineering & Construction, Inc. is welcoming a new People and Culture (HR) intern to join our People and Culture team to learn all facets of the Human Resources arena from Talent Acquisition to Human Resources to Total Rewards and beyond. This is a summer internship where you will have the opportunity to act as an administrative support to a team of 7 People and Culture professionals.
In summary your core responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Maintenance of the Application Tracking system (ATS); input data, source resumes, generate reporting
Attract top talent through local and national job boards; LinkedIn, Indeed, Career pages
Act as a brand ambassador and help source career/networking events for the talent team to attend
Assists with on-boarding activities, background initiatives and facilitation of the new hire experiences
Co-interview with Talent Leads via different forms (Phone/Skype/in-person) with candidates to review their background, experience, skills, and qualifications for current and future openings
Supports with HRIS system and Employee Engagement tools management
Participates in initiatives focused on total compensation programs, wellness activities, rewards, training, development, team relations and engagement
Maintain employee personnel files
Support with development of SOP’s, policies and procedures per leaderships guidance
Support in drafting of position descriptions and alike documentation to be aligned
Consistent shadowing and mentoring from leadership
Assist with special projects as needed
Minute taking, action planning and spear heading communication throughout the department
Ideally you would be pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field and thus have a keen interest in the world of Human resources. You will also possess intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills. Your proactive nature, willingness to go above and beyond and ability to support multiple stakeholders will strengthen your success here!
