SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Charged with installing maintaining and troubleshooting physical and virtual infrastructures, computer operating software, utilities, administering users and system security, planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. The Administrator must demonstrate a blend of technical skills and ability to assume overall responsibility for the scope of his/her assigned work. This includes, but is not limited to the support of server operating systems, software packaging, server software, mobile devices, PC support, general networking and access control management. Work will require a full range of analytical responsibilities such as requirements gathering, analysis, development, testing, implementation and detailed documentation following industry standard practices.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
The Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible and accountable for effective provisioning, upgrade, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of physical and virtual system hardware, software, storage and related infrastructure as a primary job responsibility. To include: VMware ESXi, VDI, Workspace ONE, AirWatch (MDM), compute/storage platform, AV and Encryption Tools, etc.
Responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting multiple server and desktop operating systems along with the applications they support.
Proven experience with lead technical roles in areas such as Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, SCCM, SCOM, and clustering technologies.
The SA will be the primary owner of the port’s VDI and mobilization platform from image management, desktop deployment, application packaging and application delivery which extends to the physical devices.
The SA will participate in technical research to ensure system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to organizational values, goals and objectives.
Thorough documentation and end-user training/support.
All other duties as assigned by management.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Associates degree in Information Technology or related field and three years of experience in VDI administration or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016 and Active Directory, experience with testing and monitoring DR/Backup and Recovery, Microsoft SCCM and SCOM, Antivirus/Malware Tools, Endpoint Encryption, and advanced authentication.
Professional experience with managing VMware vSphere, VDI infrastructures, and mobile workforce (MDM) in a corporate environment required.
Experience managing all aspects of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop platforms in a domain environment (experience with Powershell and PowerCLI preferred).
Solid understanding of network LAN/WAN operations, to include common edge devices and technologies such as firewalls, switching/routing, NSX, WiFi and security.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to organize and follow complex and/or detailed technical procedures.
Must have a good work ethic.
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
VMware VCP or VCAP certification desired.
Must have a valid driver’s license, meet TWIC security requirements.
Ability to work in normal office conditions with occasional exposure to hot and cold seasonal weather while outside. Must be able to lift 25lbs.
