Managing Vice President, UX and Customer Experience (Product Platforms)

We’re looking for a UX-focused design leader who’s excited about growing business-critical product lines while achieving a high bar for ease-of-use for our customers. This is truly a unique opportunity for a customer obsessed UX and Customer Experience leader. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and implementing the go-forward Gartner Platform experience. You will be responsible for the UX of the Core Gartner Product platform, Peer Insights Ratings and Reviews platform, Executive Peer Networking platform, new business process automation products and tying all the user experiences together for one seamless product experience. In this role, you will develop strategic partnerships with Product, Customer Research, Engineering and Customer Success peers, go deep in a problem space or domain, and translate your vision into a comprehensive experience strategy. You will be expected to foster future leaders while building diverse and inclusive teams.

This role will lead UX and product innovations and apply lean product principles in everything we do. This leader will be responsible for variety of contributions including:
Lead and develop a global team of 15+ UX Designers and Researchers by setting clear objectives, establishing a strong design process, and building a strong team culture
Establish design processes and design systems that maintain a high level of creative execution and reduce product and engineering cycle times while making space for innovative and divergent exploration
Develop product design and UX strategies that are informed by user research, business objectives, and strong design sensibility
Develop a point of view about the customer journey by truly understanding the customer roles we serve using qualitative/quantitative research
Work toward developing a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points through ongoing customer interviews and quantitative insights
Provide guidance about how to measure outcomes and track valuable behaviors on the platform
Partner with Product and Engineering to develop strategic goals for the Gartner Platform experience and work with your team to bring that vision to life
Measure product quality and make sure it meets a high bar of quality for releases
Thoughtfully organize and scale your team, aligning strengths to customer problems, and providing opportunities for career growth
The ideal candidate will work with leadership to identify new high-leverage activities and opportunities for growth. Our job is to set you up for success and let you take ownership of your outcomes.
10-15 years of in-depth knowledge and experience with a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a design-related discipline
Significant experience leading, coaching and growing UX/Design teams
Strong, demonstrable experience delivering successful and intuitive products. Product development experience is a must. SaaS or Value as a Service platform experience highly preferred.
Deep understanding of UX best practices in Product experiences and/or SaaS applications
Significant experience championing, defining, and scaling design systems
Experience using data to inform your decision-making process and measure your outcomes
Ability to balance speed, quality, and consistency of design
Experience managing employees that work with cross-functional product and engineering teams in an agile or scrum environment
You are a builder at heart, enjoy diving into the details of a design, and love solving challenging problems
You are equally comfortable both communicating big-picture strategy and delegating its execution, as well as working side-by-side with your team and ‘teaching by doing’.
Ability to lead/influence cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization and work collaboratively in a matrixed environment
Ability to work in a culture that thrives on feedback and seeks opportunities to stretch outside comfort zone
