The Senior Manager, Workforce Analytics at Discover is a leadership role that will lead a team of analysts to build, stabilize and evolve our workforce analytics capabilities at Discover. You will have responsibility for shaping and executing our workforce analytics vision and supporting roadmap to deliver data and insights that inform our decision making and drive the right business outcomes. This highly impactful role will influence how we support our employees and the employee experience at Discover. You and your team will be valued partners to our HR, Finance, Facilities and Business Technology teams among others and support their changing business strategy and needs with easy access to information, proactive and reactive workforce analytics, scenario models, and reports. You will also be a strategic partner to our HR team to ensure we understand our workforce composition, model the future growth and needs and help guide the workforce strategy. This role also leads, mentors, and develops the analysts who are designing, building and implementing tools and processes that align with our analytics strategy. You will lead by example and have demonstrated in-depth expertise when it comes to both HR analytics and data strategy.

Responsible for managing a team that performs advanced analytics and provides intelligence and recommendations to solve business issues to business partners. Conducts advanced analytics, including both qualitative and quantitative analyses to identify trends, variations, patterns, and insights. Ensures team members produce accurate and on-time delivery of analyses and recommendations.


Directs the Workforce analytics team to design, build, and maintain data products that support forecasting, reporting, and scenario modeling of workforce data. Manage and optimize HR processes for data intake, validation, visualization and communication of deliverables.
Applies expert knowledge and collaborate with HRBPs, COEs and Discover leadership to design, develop and maintain innovative workforce strategy programs and processes that are supportive of the overall strategies and human capital needs of the business and differentiate Discover in the marketplace.
Drives the process with HRBP’s, Talent Acquisition and Finance to ensure forward looking planning of annual staffing demands. Proactively identify internal opportunities and external needs.
Provides consultative, problem-solving support for challenging people business issues and proactively identify solutions to issues.
Establishes and monitors performance metrics and KPIs aimed at monitoring performance of the workforce strategy and analytics programs as well as to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company expectations.
Provides thought leadership on HR technology solutions and strategies for new programs, projects and enhancements to existing solutions and recommending process improvements and implementing system enhancements that advance the goals of the business.
Serves as strategic partner with HR, IT, Finance, and business leaders.
Leads a team of workforce analysts ensuring the team is productive, engaged, and thriving in their career.
Demonstrates exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data and business issues.

Partners with business and process owners to identify, build, and implement models and strategies. Presents findings from analyses and makes recommendations to leadership.
Partners with leadership to ensure understanding of requirements and performance levers for each analysis. Identifies value drivers and partners with business and process owners to define success measures.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or related Technical/Quantitative field
6+ years of experience in Quantitative/Analytics/Data Science role leading advanced analytics at scale, or related field
1+ years of experience in people leadership, managing a team of analysts
In lieu of a Master’s Degree, 8+ years of experience in Quantitative/Analytics/Data Science role with a Bachelor’s Degree in a Quantitative/Technical field

Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of experience in a field emphasizing data analysis, forecasting, or data modelling in organizations
3+ years of experience leading and coaching others on analytics projects
Experience with data architectures, data visualizations, and data structures
Experience working with HR/organizational people data (e.g. headcount, turnover, recruiting metrics and other people analytics metrics)
Experience building data science models, model preparation and selection
Experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using tools such as SQL, R, Python, SPSS, STATA or Tableau, the ability to troubleshoot others’ analyses
Experience leading People Analytics or Workforce Planning teams
Experience conceiving, developing, implementing and enhancing people processes and models
Familiarity with Workday reporting
Stakeholder Management experience
