Job Scope and Expectations:
The Foundation Associate Accountant/Coordinator is responsible for processing accounts receivables/payables, donation contributions, and grant payments for Panda Cares Foundation and Panda Charitable Foundation. This position also supports the Foundation Director in keeping track of and responding to any needs of Foundations financial data and grant portfolio. This position also provides administrative support to the Foundation Director and to the Panda Cares team during annual fundraising events. Involves flexible hours (evenings and weekends) to attend events and travel to regional Operations meetings; ability to lift 25 lbs.

Essential Functions:

Descriptions:
Processes and verifies accuracy of donors payments and cash receipts, codes and enters the data into the accounting system. Manages daily deposit. Researches and records any ACH and wires.
Responsible for daily accounts/grants payable, entering invoices in Payscan, and maintains grant payment schedule and budget.
Assists the Foundation Director, Accounting & Tax Manager and external CPA with various accounting and financial activities, such as worksheet and data preparation of audited financial statements, tax returns and tax planning calculations, tax extensions, and Form 990s. Performs research on accounting issues as directed.
Performs research for the Foundation Director and Legal team on various state tax issues and Foundation filing requirements.
Helps to streamline and improve efficiency of reporting and processes and assists in implementing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
Assists in preparing accounting information and responding to any needs for Foundation financial data.
Assists in managing all aspects of the Foundation s office operations, including maintaining hard-copy and electronic files, mail and email processing, and maintaining the Foundation s calendar.
Prepares and sends monthly e-mails providing updates on the Foundation s activities; previews topics for upcoming meetings or calls.
Supports special projects related to fundraising efforts in support of Panda s involvement in major charitable activities.
Assists Foundation Director in tasks related to the Cherng Family Office.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor s degree
Minimum one to two years of work experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment
Successful completion of annual store training
