POSITION SUMMARY: The Account Information/Edits Specialist will work front-end billing edits to ensure clean claims as well as receive charge documents by division and enter all required data into the patient accounting system daily.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
Work front-end billing edits to ensure clean claims
Review all documents upon receipt to ensure that all required information is attached.
Request face sheets or other information as required.
Enter demographics into the patient accounting system.
Select and enter the proper Insurance Payer by product and zip code.
Maintain daily logs.
Assist verification as needed.
File charge tickets in file cabinet(s).
Maintains strictest confidentiality.
Perform other duties as assigned.
A high school graduate or equivalent
1+ year of similar experience (Registration Clerk, Admissions, etc.)
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Must have experience working eligibility with government payers, commercial and workman's compensation.
Must be very detail-oriented and have the ability to troubleshoot.
Skill in keyboard/data entry.
General knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel.
Must possess the ability to remain focused in a busy environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a plus.
Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers.
Must have a pleasant disposition and be a team player.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Must be able to type 50-60 wpm
Communicate well with the public
