Position provides outpatient chemical dependency treatment services including chemical dependency assessment, treatment planning, group and individual counseling, advocacy, referral and service monitoring, didactic educational lectures in accordance with payer contract guidelines, and documentation of services provided.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a High School diploma or GED with current Texas licensure as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), with 0 - 2 years of work experience as an LCDC in a chemical dependency treatment setting. Must be cleared for employment by TDCJ. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as well as personal automobile liability insurance as required by the state of Texas.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in counseling, social work, or psychology, with current Texas licensure as LCDC. Experience serving TDCJ clients. Knowledge of probation and parole programs; working computer skills including MS Word and CMBHS; and bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
