Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical and writing skills to join Wells Fargo's Credit Research team, based in Charlotte, NC. As an analyst, you will support the research and marketing efforts of an established, sell-side High Yield analyst who is responsible for making sector and company investment recommendations based on fundamental credit analysis within various sectors. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing industry/company data, creating and maintaining financial models, and preparing reports and presentations that present our conclusions to institutional investors and our institutional sales team.
We have three (3) openings that will all be based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Each opening will support one of the following groups, respectively:
1. HY Consumer
2. IG Health Care
This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Other Desired Qualifications
At a minimum, candidates need a bachelor's degree (finance/accounting/economics preferred) and a strong academic record with 1-2 years of experience in finance, ideally within investment banking, asset management, or research.
Formal credit training and/or excel modeling/valuation experience is a plus, as is knowledge of various consumer sectors.
Professional experience through internships, part-time or full time work, and/or extracurricular activities
Willingness to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused collaborative and fast paced team environment with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results
Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
