Full Job Description

SCAD seeks a part-time professor of user experience (UX) design to join our dedicated, award-winning Savannah faculty and prepare students for rapidly evolving design careers.

User experience designers create using the principles and tools of a progressive platform of programs within the SCAD School of Design, encourage the development of a strong interdisciplinary design community across SCAD locations and collaborate with related academic disciplines including interaction design, industrial design, design management, and design for sustainability.

The ideal candidate has a demonstrated passion for inspiring and teaching at the college level, the ability to motivate students and faculty to think creatively and critically, has experience working with students and faculty of diverse backgrounds, and possesses a thorough understanding of user experience design methodology and theories. Additionally, the candidate should have strong graphic and idea visualization skills, a background in contextual research, experience prototyping, and the ability to create compelling user interfaces that generate engaging interactive experiences with the user.

Requirements

Terminal degree or its equivalent in interaction design, HCI, human factors, industrial design, service design, design management, interactive design and game development, or a related discipline
At least five years of industry experience
Strong project management skills
