The Charge Entry / Data Entry Specialist associate is responsible for:
Posting charges accurately and in a timely manner; assures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of charge capture, per system, facility/department policies and procedures
Ordering office supplies as needed for department
Ensuring all department charges are received daily and are accurately entered into the computer system; distributes reports to departments for reconciliation
Proper data entry into HMS on all required fields
Verifying monthly lab bills for accuracy
The Charge Entry / Data Entry Specialist associate must:
Be a high school graduate or GED with math and keyboard skills; 10-key and computer coursework/skills in data entry, spreadsheet development, and word processing
Work experience in the area of accounting with data entry or related field is required
Be a goal-oriented, education-directed person who desires advancement (preferred)
Have word processing and spreadsheet skills
Have 1-2 years experience in health care and/or office practice (preferred)
Have the ability to take direction, set priorities, and see assigned tasks through to completion
Be able to work independently, without supervision
Posses excellent organizational skills
Posses good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
