SORTER - PREPARATION
3rd Shift - 10pm to 6am
Responsible for sorting and trimming fruit as it enters the manufacturing process, and operating preparation equipment and setting up equipment for runs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices.
It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sort fruit as it enters the preparation area and inspects for any foreign material.
Identify and remove foreign objects and defects from the process.
Spread fruit on belt to facilitate greater visibility of defects, etc.
Wear proper PPE on inspection line insuring gloves are marked with your name.
Respond to co-workers as help is needed/requested when performing sanitation.
Notify production supervisor/lead of any fruit quality issues.
Maintains cleanliness of the work area using a broom, shovel, squeegee, brush or washing as needed.
Rake waste hoppers and empty as needed.
Complies with established sanitation and safety policies and procedures (GMP's/PPE)
Regular use of Chlorine for cleaning the equipment.
Uses Caustic/Acid to clean part of the equipment when the line is down. Only trained employees use this.
Completes required production reporting paperwork.
Maintains a clean production area, processing, and lunch areas during shift.
INDUSTRIAL & FOOD SAFETY:
Follow proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and standards.
Follow all chemical safety procedures and standards.
Follow all GMP’s.
Follow all HACCP procedures.
Wear required and appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
Identify and address all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts – Report to Supervisor on shift.
Follow all other applicable safety rules and regulations.
This is a seasonal 24/7 facility and you must be available to work your assigned shift.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Ability to read, write, communicate, and interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
