Reporting to the Vice President of Talent, the Director will develop a technical development domain strategy and related processes in alignment with business and workforce needs to facilitate critical skill development, technical pathways, career development, and technical certifications. This person will also develop and lead the diversity strategy for diverse technical development, and define technical development metrics to measure talent and business outcomes. Additionally, the Director will facilitate apprenticeships and manage external partnerships as well as oversee technical campaigns, learning technology, and corporate sustainability for the talent organization and track and report on development ROI. The Director will also lead the learning technology strategy in partnership with the TM&D organization and partner across HR and partner functions to provide for integrated learning solutions. The ideal candidate will manage a function capable of meeting the needs of a large and complex aerospace and defense company and an ever-changing talent landscape and be able to lead others in a matrix environment. The successful candidate will effectively communicate and partner with internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for creating strategic concepts and translating them to execution to produce business outcomes. Responsibilities:
Develop and execute an enterprise technical development strategy including critical skill development, tech pathways, career development technical certifications and apprenticeships. Partner with the CTO organization and business sectors to ensure strategy alignment.
Lead and integrate a diversity strategy for technical development to ensure robust and ready pipeline of diverse talent. Partner with the Diversity and Inclusion and People Analytics teams to align technical development efforts and identify metrics to measure impact
Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in the technical development domain including line of sight to internal and external best practices and adopt for the enterprise as appropriate
Partner with Talent Management and Development in the business to ensure talent strategies align with business needs. Identify common talent needs across the organization to inform strategic priorities in alignment with overarching Talent strategy. Consult on business specific talent needs
Identify technical development intersection points across functional partners (inside and outside of HR) to deliver an integrated approach and employee experience across our talent processes.
Facilitate technical development organizational design including services and delivery model, organizational roles and talent requirements.
Partner with the Talent organization and key stakeholders to develop and deliver an enterprise learning technology roadmap to optimize our learning offerings and deliver integrated learning to our employees
Partner and maintain external relationships in support of technical strategies

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business management, computer science, information systems, or related field
Minimum of 12+ years of mixed experience in building and scaling training program for technical teams/career tracks
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute technical development strategies in support of business outcomes
Demonstrated understanding of engineering delivery processes and can effectively communicate goals and processes with developers, engineers and technical managers
Demonstrated aptitude for learning with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and navigate ambiguous situations.
Demonstrated experience leading medium-large teams of direct and indirect leadership teams to drive successful business and functional outcomes
Experience collaborating with and influencing senior leaders (VPs) to ensure client-satisfaction regarding project and/or process goals and objectives and strategic initiatives
Must be willing to travel (25%) of the time
Outstanding organization and project management skills with the ability to manage the delivery of high-quality, on-time programs in a dynamic environment.
Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to manage multiple clients with multiple needs in an efficient and effective manner.
Systems and strategic thinking.
Executive level presentation experience and proven proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:
Desired experience includes Technical Development or line of business experience to include talent management / organization development
Experience in consulting / coaching senior (C-suite) leadership and expertise in change management and strategic communication strongly preferred.
Demonstrated capability in process improvement implementation.
Master’s degree or advanced certification in OE/OD preferred.
