Job Summary :
The person hired for this position will work collectively with IT and business teams to establish current and future state hardware and software security architectures across multiple technologies and ensures technology solutions being implemented are engineered in accordance with these architectures. To perform this role the IT Security Architect will maintain broad and deep technical skills in multiple technical domains such as cloud, server, storage, database, desktop, and network infrastructure. This role demands strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead complex technical decision making as well as maintain complex technical documentation.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M Acelity career.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Developing roadmaps that define the future state security architecture and recommend where and when work will be done to evolve to this future state.
Participating in the selection of hardware and software products and participate in the planning for which features get implemented on what timeline.
Conducting research on emerging technologies for the purpose of evaluating and recommending those that will increase performance, reliability, cost effectiveness, infrastructure flexibility or otherwise provide value to our business.
Developing and documenting reference architectures and associated standards to be used as a basis for technology selection and implementation.
Establishing security risk assessment frameworks for existing and new systems and work with compliance teams to asses risk.
Engaging with the application delivery teams to integrate enterprise security technologies into solutions and services from design, static source analysis, test methodologies and penetration test strategies.
Participating in annual technology planning to identify where technology investments are needed and where technical architectures need updating.
Participating in application or infrastructure implementation projects to insure the design conforms to the technical architecture and standards and modify or extend the technical architecture when it is necessary to accommodate project needs.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with technology vendors, business partners and delivery teams.
Communicating strategies, directions, and plans with business and IT stakeholders globally.
Quantifying value realization and synergy to show positive business impact of IT efforts.
Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
Minimum of ten (10) years of professional IT experience
Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience including: coaching, performance management, goal setting and/or change management in a private, public, government or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in creating strategic plans aligned with business objectives and IT global initiatives
Proven ability to drive growth and operational excellence through IT capabilities
Strong leadership and communication skills necessary to engage with stake-holders, governance, and cross functional teams
Self-motivated with a demonstrated leadership ability to learn quickly and deliver results fast in a high pressure, high profile environment
Solid understanding of IP-based network architecture and contemporary virtualization technologies - network certification a plus
Understanding of application life-cycle management methodology is preferred - agile a plus
Knowledge of architecture concepts, industry standards, and best practices
Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments
Familiarity or training in ITIL methodology and practices

Location: San Antonio, TX

Travel: May include up to 20% travel both domestic and international
