BRMi seeks an Internal Risk and Controls Project Manager for a large financial client in the Northern Virginia area.
The candidate selected will be a self-motivated, strong leader with extensive experience managing a variety of controls for audit related projects within a multi-disciplined and geographically disbursed group. They will demonstrate their exceptional ability to manage a large number of ongoing projects while also keeping them on track. They will meet deliverable goals within targeted timeframes and budget, identify and escalate roadblocks, and identify resource concerns.
We are looking for a creative and dedicated individual who will simultaneously drive results while seamlessly integrating within our client's fast-paced business culture.
Knowledge of Risk Management, SOX, and COSO related methodologies
Experience managing control-related projects
Experience leading audit preparation and response efforts
Ability to lead cross-functional project teams (e.g., auditors, technologists, accountants, and process analysts)
Strong Microsoft Project skills
Experience with audit document quality review
Strong team motivational skills and the ability to drive for results
Ability to lead projects related to general ledgers, accounting rules engines, and
Ability to develop a detailed project plan to track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long term goals
Ability to shift project priorities quickly
Flexibility to develop various reporting documents/presentations, as required
Ability to create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Ability to deliver a project on time, within budget and scope
Strong organizational skills
Ability to effectively ensure resource availability and allocation
Ability to thrive under time constraints and deadline pressure
Ability being comfortable working with uncertainty
Ability to proactively design and lead a project with minimal direction
Critical thinking and decision making skills
Excellent client-facing communication skills – ability to forge and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders
Skills to perform risk management to minimize project risks

Experience presenting final project results and observations
