Enterprise Application Services (EAS) is in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) division at North Carolina State University. EAS is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement & maintenance of the University’s enterprise business applications. This includes: development, operation & maintenance of all enterprise administrative systems (Advancement, Financials, HR, Portal and Student Information Systems, etc.), configuration management, maintenance, enhancements, and application integration.

Essential Job Duties
North Carolina State University’s Enterprise Application Services is seeking a PeopleSoft Applications Specialist to enhance and support its PeopleSoft HCM System. This is a great career opportunity that requires no travel and is located in Raleigh, NC, recently ranked as America’s Best City by Businessweek. Use your knowledge of PeopleSoft development tools (Application Designer, PeopleCode and Application Packages, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, Workflow, Fluid Design and Development, BI Publisher, SQL, SQR, etc.) to build bolt-on applications and customizations for NC State’s HR System. This position also provides production support by analyzing, programming and testing solutions to complex production problems, and works to retrofit customizations for Upgrades and Maintenance. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate skills in requirements gathering and writing detailed design documents.

Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor’s degree with nine credit hours in programming and three years of experience in Business Applications Consulting or Development; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Departmental Required Skills
Significant application development and programming knowledge and experience with ERP Systems.
Ability to independently, quickly, and efficiently identify and solve technical problems that can impact a large number of customers.
Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Thorough understanding of the project development life cycle, including but not limited to application analysis, development, testing, documentation, approval and post migration validation. Attention to detail and ability to form strong relationships between team members, customers, and management is essential.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Preference will be given to candidates with:
1) Experience developing enhancements and bolt-on applications that demonstrates expertise in PeopleTools (PeopleCode and Application Packages, Application Designer, Application Engine, Fluid Design and Development, Cascading Style Sheets, Component Interface, Integration Broker, SQR, AWE Workflow, BI Publisher, SQL);

2) Bachelor’s degree with nine credit hours in programming and three years of experience in Business Applications Consulting or Development; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

3) A strong understanding of standard development methodologies (Systems Development Life-cycle);

4) Proven skills in testing to assure quality of programming and development (unit, integration, and system testing);

5) A thorough knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS data structures and functionality;

6) Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting and debugging skills;

7) Preference will be given to candidates with significant experience in PeopleSoft HRMS (or HCM) 9.1 or greater. Demonstrate knowledge of the following HRMS Modules: NA Payroll, Time and Labor and Absence Management.

8) Experience with Enterprise Portal (Interaction Hub) configuration and development, Quest Stat, or Load Testing Software is a plus.
