The position will involve responsibility for design/development and support for systems that support the following areas of Risk Management:

Financial Risk (Investment Risk, Analytics & Modeling, Capital at Risk and Stress Testing)
Nuveen Risk including Valuation Services
Operational Risk

Software design, development, management and support of systems in Risk Management.

Will actively participate in software design and development in addition to overseeing the creation and ongoing management of different systems environment in use by Risk Management.

Will oversee the day to day running of the Risk Management systems.

Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Prior experience as a developer in Asset Management or Financial Services is required.

Prior experience in database development, project management, including working with the business users is required; 10+ years is preferred.

Strong database skills including Oracle, data modeling, data warehouse design, PL-SQL programming and query optimization is required.

Strong programming skills in scripting languages like UNIX shell, Perl is required.

An understanding of Technology infrastructure and ability to work effectively with Infrastructure resources and management.

Prior experience in implementing BI tools is required; experience with Oracle BI tool is preferred.

Good understanding of financial data and products (including structured products like RMBS, CMBS, ABS, etc.).

Prior Experience with Risk Systems especially Moody’s Risk Frontier highly desirable.

Prior experience with Java, C # and R is preferred.

Experience of working with vendors.
