About the Position: This position is a Telecommunications Specialist with the US Army Space & Missile Defense Command located at Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The US Army Space & Missile Defense Command is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). More information about AcqDemo can be obtained at the following link: http://acqdemo.hci.mil/index.html.
Provide management and planning for user missions on the Ultra High Frequency Follow-On (UFO) and Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) constellations for one of four RSSC regions.
Provide technical assistance to MUOS users in the role of MUOS help desk as required.
Assist in the development and preparation of command policies, plans, objectives and requirements for the above communications systems and equipment.
Initiate actions in response to user requirements to establish, upgrade, or phase out particular satellite ground systems and facilities under Command control.
Provide guidance, assistance and direction to the command's subordinate facilities for the completion of mission responsibilities and the implementation of plans, programs, and directives for narrowband control system upgrades.
Participate in various meetings, panels, study groups, work groups and other planning activities at command and higher echelon levels to discuss plans, procedures, policies, and problems regarding assigned mission and functions.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrating knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD)
Narrowband satellite communications (SATCOM), control, and planning systems, such as Fleet Satellite (FLTSAT), Ultra High Frequency Follow-On (UFO), and Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) satellites; providing technical satellite configurations, assigning terminal and group provisioning, supporting Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) and anomaly resolution; managing and planning user missions on the Ultra High Frequency Follow-On (UFO) or Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) constellations; supporting Ultra High Frequency (UHF) satellite communications deliberate and contingency operations; and maintaining Situational Awareness (SA) of Satellite Access Requests (SARs) and Satellite Access Authorizations (SAAs).
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or
equivalent grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02).
