Position Title: Senior Engineer, Factory Automation
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Summary of Duties:
Work closely with developers (external or in-house), SQA testers, IT and end-users. Provide operational support of front-end wafer fab factory applications deployed in manufacturing. Responsible for application engineering of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Statistical Process Control (SPC) software, Advanced Process Control (APC), Recipe Management (RMS), Manufacturing Specification Management (ECN), Graphical User Interface (GUI), Databases, Business Process Management (BPM), Dispatch, Scheduling, and Reporting Systems. Develop and maintain troubleshooting and corrective action guides. Develop test plans and carry out testing new application releases. Plan and perform application installation during scheduled downtimes and during normal operations without downtime or production impact. Plan and perform training classes for level one support teams to include CIM Operations team and the IT Operation Center, and perform cross training with peer application engineers. Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions during unscheduled application downtimes. Work closely with IT to establish 24x7 on call support and troubleshoot factory system applications and infrastructure issues. Perform deep dive analysis on critical factory applications to determine solutions to system performance issues and drive to closure. Create alerts and troubleshooting guides to drive Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Recover (MTTR) improvements.
Position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field of study and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or as an Engineer, Factory Automation or related Co-Op or internship role in systems management. Alternately, will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as an Engineer, Factory Automation or related Co-Op or internship role in systems management. Position requires experience supporting large-scale information systems. Requires experience with databases including at least one of the following: Oracle, DB2, MySQL, or Postgres. Requires experience with Windows Server or Linux. Requires experience with object-oriented programming languages and Unix/Linux scripting. Experience or knowledge can be gained concurrently or as part of a graduate degree curriculum, Co-Op or internship.
