Boom Supersonic is the Denver-based startup building Mach-2.2 passenger airliners. Think Concorde but 75% more affordable to fly. Imagine a day trip from New York to London—3h15 each way. The systems requirements engineering team at Boom is looking for an intern who has an interest in learning how highly complex engineering systems are developed and managed for new commercial aircraft programs. Systems engineering provides one an opportunity to cross and intersect disciplines (both business and technical) to meet customer needs more effectively and efficiently.
This unique and program-critical discipline requires a “big picture” mindset while understanding that the devil is in the details. Systems engineering at Boom takes a collaborative approach to internal and external customers, and an aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving.
You will be responsible for supporting development of a highly complex requirements framework for an exciting new commercial aircraft development program by assisting in gathering and organizing critical requirement information across engineering disciplines. You will support the development of future training material, work instructions and job aids on the topics of compliance and requirements management.
Assist in developing engineering specification documents for Overture.
Assist in developing training material and work instructions for new employees in engineering.
Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program and a year away from graduation.
Basic understanding of engineering.
Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
