The Full-Time Merchandiser is a position that is responsible for merchandising Frito-Lay's complete line of quality products to existing accounts while driving your personal vehicle to several store locations in close proximity. The Merchandiser is responsible for using a handheld computer to check in orders at stores and utilize a company provided iPhone. It also includes communicating with store personnel and working closely with other full-time Merchandisers in a team environment. The Merchandiser work schedule is based on customer requirements, averages 40-50 hours per week with two days off per week. This includes weekend and holiday work schedules. The Merchandiser position offers competitive hourly pay at $17/hour, full Company Benefits and a reimbursable mileage policy.

As a Merchandiser based out of the Wilmington facility, you may be required to cover stores as far north as the city of North Hampton NH, as far south as Cambridge MA, and as far west as Westford, MA. Routes are kept in a tight geography.

MERCHANDISING

  • Safely and efficiently place/stock product within the recommended pattern following defined account standards in all selling locations
  • Rotating shelved product in all selling locations
  • Clean and straighten shelves/racks, checking code dates, rotating product and removing unsaleables
  • Check shelves/racks for appearance and pricing accuracy
  • Assemble and/or teardown promotional and other displays
  • Use equipment to transport products (e.g., U Boats, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Display promotional material such as signs and banners in accounts
  • Ensure backroom inventory reaches the sales floor and organize, place and maintain any remaining backroom inventory in proper location
  • Check-in and scan orders using handheld computer
  • Order "maintenance" product via the handheld device including scanning backstock, logging backstock, etc.
  • Check into each store using company provided iPhone and apps
  • Execute proper carton return procedures
  • Payment reconciliation where applicable
  • Not responsible for ordering incremental/growth product
  • Comply with operating procedures (e.g., scan-in/scan-out, following designated route, etc.)
  • Service accounts during designated times established by management
  • Deliver customer service (e.g., communication, rapport building, attentiveness to customer needs, etc.)
COMMUNICATION

  • Build relationships with appropriate store personnel
  • Identify and communicate incremental sales opportunities to CSM
  • Communicate daily status, issues, etc. to CSM
  • Attend weekly one with one meeting with CSM
  • Attend period district meetings
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
  • Drive to each store in personal vehicle
  • Must work in all weather conditions
  • Employees will follow any other instructions, and perform any other related duties, as may be required by their supervisor.
  • Work safely and comply with all identified Frito Lay and store procedures, work rules and policies
  • Available to work weekend and holiday hours
  • Ability to operate under minimal supervision (self-managed role)
  • Prior Merchandising experience preferred (retail and/or grocery store environment)
  • Accurately and timely report hours worked and mileage driven
