SITE SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICER (SSHO)
Primary Function:
Implement and manage all applicable EHS programs in accordance with Treviicos requirements as well as client specifications. Reports to Project Manager
Location: Belle Chasse, Louisiana 70037
Activities and Responsibilities:
1. Act as the subject matter expert for all EHS programs and under supervision:
· Inspect rigging on a regular basis for damage and proper storage.
· Ensure all heavy equipment have performed their daily/weekly/monthly inspections.
· Ensure digging and service cranes have established proper swing radius protection.
· Inspect fire extinguishers/first aid cabinets monthly.
· Ensure required personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn.
· Ensure adequate supply of PPE is kept on site.
· Abide by and encourage respect for existing EHS regulations.
· Assist in the development of monthly safety statistics.
· Assist in promoting near miss reporting.
· Assist in incident investigation.
· Submit a daily site safety report to the PM.
· Hold weekly safety meetings and daily pre-task meetings. All meetings will be documented and submitted with the daily report.
· Develop and update AHAs and pre-task plans as required.
2. Act as the site EHS Lead for client, local, state, and federal officials.
3. Ensure Project compliance with Corporate EHS policies and procedures.
4. Perform daily EHS Audits/observations at site.
5. Maintain communication with the Corporate EHS when managing nonconformities processes and corrective and preventive actions.
6. Assist Corporate EHS with creating EHS documents.
7. Assist Corporate EHS in identifying improvement initiatives in safety and environment standards.
8. Work with the Corporate EHS to implement and identify EHS Training Plans.
9. Work together with the Corporate EHS to organize and draw up the procedures for emergency plans and quality-environment-safety plans.
10. Reporting any dangerous situation which may be detected while carrying out working activities.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
· 5+ years’ experience in construction safety working at large scale heavy industry job sites.
· BCSP certification preferred (CHST, OHST, CSP)
· Familiarity/Experience working with ISO 45001.
· Experience in site conditions observations.
· Must be highly motivated and eager to learn company specific construction industry concepts.
· Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal/written communication.
· Comfortable speaking with clients.
· Must be a team player and able to get along with individuals from other groups in the organization.
· Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
