The HT Group is searching for a results-driven Director of Technical Staffing to help grow our contract technical staffing business based in Austin Texas. You will use your proven leadership skills to develop and grow your technical contract and direct hire business. Additionally, you will monitor and motivate the recruiting and sales activity of the team. We have a recruiting manager and a sales manager in place. You will work with them daily to help them achieve company goals.

Maximizes sales revenues and is accountable for the sales and operational activities to include the development and increase of market share through profitable gross margin business. Provides direction and leadership in the areas of recruiting and hiring quality temporary help as well as promoting Contract, Contract-to Hire and Career Placement business. This is a hands-on management position.


  • Recruits, hires and trains staff and provides developmental and career opportunities for staff.
  • Identifies, pursues and develops new accounts through awareness of the local market, competitor activities and community growth plans.
  • Establishes and maintains rapport with key clients and acts as a key member of the sales team on large accounts and new client prospects.
  • Surveys clients regarding perception of service and emphasizes quality and service to identify opportunities to further grow existing accounts.
  • Evaluates businesses and recruiting opportunities and develops and implements recruiting programs.
  • Prepares and manages division budgets, administers expense control programs and approves GM expenses.
  • Ensures compliance with The HT Group’s office procedures and all State, Federal, and local laws and regulations.
  • Makes client service calls to assigned accounts to communicate new services and assists in planning for staffing requirements.
  • Regularly visit existing clients and documents each visit in the database to ensure the safety of our contract employees and to verify they are performing tasks within the appropriate job description.
  • Coordinates all prospect/client inquiries by defining issues and responding in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains control of pricing, contracts and proposals to ensure sales, gross margin and profit objectives are met.
  • Develops and executes comprehensive operational plans and programs, both short and long term, to support sales, revenue and growth objectives of the Company.
  • Accountable for revenue growth and area profitability management.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation regarding personnel performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline preferred.

· 5+ years proven and successful experience preferably within the IT search and placement industry.

· Experience in a high pressure, customer service-oriented environment.

· 2+ years managing multiple operating units with indirect supervisory responsibility required, preferably in the staffing industry.


  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills necessary.
  • Must maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work independently, multi-task and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, openness, respect and sensitivity in dealing with others.

  • Strong customer service skills and selling skills required.
  • Ability to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives.

· Must be a decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective and is well versed in systems.
