Technical Training Specialist
We are seeking a results-oriented, people focused, individual with a background in environmental, health & safety to join our Training and Development team based in Somerville, MA. As a member of the Training department, you will operate to challenge and inspire fellow staff members to achieve their personal best by fostering a culture of continual improvement through learning and development.
This highly motivated individual will be responsible for planning, preparing, coordinating, conducting, and evaluating regulatory and technical training programs across the organization. Working closely with the compliance and operations groups, you will create technically sound, learner centered training content grounded in the compliance framework of an Environmental, Transportation, Health & Safety Organization. As a technologically competent professional, you will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks in our Learning Management System (LMS), Triumvirate Learning Center. Primary Job Responsibilities
Training Development, Delivery, and Evaluation
Work closely with subject matter experts and business leaders to develop and deliver learning programs relevant to current business needs
Create and internally publish instructional materials including learning objectives, training content, standard operating procedures, and job aids.
Facilitate training programs across the organization with a focus on regulatory compliance and technical competence. Programs may include: RCRA, DOT, HAZWOPER, Lab Safety, Bio Safety, Radiation Safety, Confined Space, Lock Out Tag Out, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazardous Communications, Personal Protective Equipment, Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection, and more.
Evaluate program effectiveness by evaluating learning, behavioral, and business outcomes
Continuously improve programs in accordance with best practices, business needs, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
Scheduling and coordinating regulatory training activities across the organization
Tracking highly detailed information in multiple locations
Participate in creating, maintaining, and sharing an annual training calendar
Share in the administrative functions of the training group including; conducting learning and performance assessments, running reports, entering data, record keeping and reporting, and general LMS administrative duties
Assist in the development and delivery of web-based learning solutions.
Continuous Learning: Evolving subject matter expertise in instructional design, presentation skills, learning evaluations, LMS best practices, and the regulatory environment.
Other Tasks as Assigned
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years working in similar, highly regulated environments
Passionate, high-energy attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic, self-sufficient, and highly organized
Outstanding attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Outlook
Database, Learning Management System (LMS), and content authoring tools such as Articulate experience a plus.
Ability to deliver full and multi-day training programs while standing and speaking throughout
Ability to travel as required on occasion.
