The VP Retail COE Operations and Development will lead all COE functions and execute future leased and owned retail concepts. This individual will lead the development process for outlets, integrations and new resorts from ideation through the opening phase for all domestic and international projects/outlets. This individual will ensure profitability through the strategic selection and visual merchandising of a wide range of products that appeal to the target demographic based on analytics and best practice. He/she will drive the retail master planning process in collaboration with COEs and property leadership and will own the standardization and refinement of pre-opening phases for all retail development projects. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts international policies, practices, and procedures.
Lead the development and delivery of new outlet concepts (leased or owned), re-brandings and third-party partnerships (licenses, management agreements, leases, etc.). Develop concepts and programming that utilize master planning data, industry trends, and company goals to deliver on the needs of our guests for existing and new properties. Lead overall project design to deliver on the concept and programming for the outlet.
Direct the pre-opening process for all new or re-branded/re-designed concepts in collaboration with property leadership; provide critical paths and other pre-opening templates to property and opening teams; create pre-opening presentation; provide guidance and support related to training for management teams and employees. Provide full-service support to outlets during and post-opening, including adjustments to operations, labor standards, product offerings, and technology.
Ensure all retail operators are provided the relevant resources and analytics to maximize profitability, to include brand concept and visual identity, outlet materials design, marketing plan and asset development, opening activation planning, etc.
Act as a resource for operating partners and management groups for ongoing collaboration, decision making, and feedback; ensure that properties and partners are satisfying their agreements and maintaining brand integrity of MGMRI and the partner.
Champion the collaboration between the Retail COE and Human Resources that will establish best practices for effective hiring, employee training, leadership development, onboarding, performance management, talent review and succession planning.

Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality leadership or other related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
At least ten (10) years of experience in the direction and management of employees, including a minimum of five (5) years in a retail environment
Experience in successfully opening new resorts and retail concepts.
Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Previous experience as a VP of Retail, or equivalent role.
Previous experience in a hotel/gaming environment.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
