The Medical Cannabis industry in Mississippi is only about two years old. The patient base continues to grow but at this time is only about half the level expected when the market fully matures. With no state limits on cultivation licenses, product supply presently exceeds demand. State regulations are still evolving and that could cause occasional market disruptions.
Job Overview
This is a new position reporting directly to the CEO. This person will manage River Remedy’s wholesale and retail sales operations and staff. The main objective of this role is to strategically optimize company resources to boost revenue and profit. The ideal candidate will oversee social media and marketing initiatives, drive content creation, and ensure effective deployment of marketing materials. This role demands a strategic thinker with leadership experience, capable of standardizing processes, analyzing data, and enhancing performance across both wholesale and retail operations.

Primary Job Responsibilities
This position will have four major functions:
- Mining the customer data collected from our wholesale and retail operations to better inform our marketing efforts.
- Working with a talented in-house wholesale team to better serve our customer base.
- Working with our in-house dispensary managers to grow sales and margins.
- Improving the ROI on our customer outreach by better utilizing our social media presence, vendor relationships and company staffers.
Summary of Key Job Objectives:
- Utilization of Available Data - Manage data flow, refine processes for review, analysis, and summary of data.
- Wholesale Operations - Work with team members serving approximately 100 dispensaries to expand our wholesale presence and revenues.
- Retail Dispensaries - Drive efficiencies in operations and expand sales for existing and future dispensaries.
- Social Media Outreach - Leverage River Remedy’s unique position to enhance the company’s social media presence and build additional brand equity across the Company’s several in-house brands.
Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field, a minimum of three years of experience in sales or marketing, and at least one year’s experience managing staff.
Software Tools
The company utilizes Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Airtable, and Slack.
Background Check
All employees in the medical cannabis industry must pass a background test managed by the state government.
Work Location
River Remedy’s office team is colocated with the cultivation and processing operations at 5925 I-55 South in Byram, MS. Majority of the work will take place from the home office with occasional travel.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset. Includes paid holidays, two weeks annual personal leave, and a health insurance stipend. Stock options are available to reward performance.
