The Assistant Controller will be an important part of a productive, energetic and customer-focused administrative team. This role would be responsible for all activities and operations in the accounts payable function for the organization along with other day to day and monthly accounting support for the finance department.
Follow the company’s established accounting processes
Proactively help manage administrative and accounting functions and improve processes
Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all payables including invoice creation and entry.
Payables Vendor Statement Reconciliation and inquiries.
Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Completing general accounting functions including research, report preparation, and analysis
Completing various month-end closing tasks including calculation of and making journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
Preparing and analyzing accounting data by processing and interpreting accounts such as general ledgers and sub-ledgers
Reviewing, investigating, and correcting inconsistencies in financial entries and reports
Ensuring all financial schedules and deadlines are met
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal departments
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
3-5 years’ Accounting experience
Proficient in Word and Excel
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
