The CAD Drafter position is responsible for developing detailed design drawings from concept sketches and/or engineered drawings. The primary role of this position is to provide detailed support for multiple disciplines for our facilities and projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop detailed shop fabrication drawings including bill of materials, part details and assemblies.
Develop shop layouts for purposes of construction.
Assist with Plotting drawings and document tracking
Assist with development of NC1 and DXF files for manufacturing.
Assist in production activities as required, including tagging of products.
Coordinate with Department and Project Managers to facilitate material purchases.
Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, compliance to standards, fits and stack-ups.
Follow established AutoCAD standardization as provided in the Roeslein Engineering / Drafting Standards.
Participate in continuous improvement of CADD standards related to efficiency of fabrication.
Assist with checking drawings by others (in-house and 3rd party) assuring CADD standards are maintained.
Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
Work closely with all departments in the company to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information.
Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
Respond timely to emails and phone calls.
Travel to Roeslein headquarters in St. Louis MO when required
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work is performed in a mostly controlled atmosphere. Some exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for for short periods of time is possible.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or a related degree is strongly preferred.
Zero (0) to Five (5) years’ experience in the design and drafting of industrial facilities and equipment.
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience is strongly preferred with demonstrated knowledge of structural steel arrangements, process equipment, process and utility piping, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2012 or above is required.
Experience with Solidworks, TEKLA, Advanced Steel is a plus
Demonstrated experience detailing in accordance with AISC standards is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail is required.
Excellent communication skills; both oral and written is required.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
Computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based program are required.
Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
