Mathtech is seeking a Jr. Systems Administrator to support the IT department in assisting end users, maintaining and administering company systems, and completing tasks related to IT initiatives. The position requires a high degree of teamwork with the IT team and other operating departments. Teamwork will result in individual task assignments and directions will be taken from the IT Manager. This position is fully on-site and will be based out of our Falls Church, VA location.
An ideal candidate is expected to have working knowledge of a networked client\server Windows and Ubuntu environment, and is expected to learn necessary skills\knowledge unique to company IT processes on the job.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides in person and over the phone end user support.
- Administers and maintains company systems.
- Assists in implementing IT initiatives.
- Assists in developing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Assists in periodic auditing and maintaining of company systems.
- Works with Windows and Linux systems.
Mathtech is a small to medium sized business, and our staff is expected to assist in varying aspects of day-to-day activity. There will be times when unscheduled IT emergencies, or immediate business needs, overtake primary responsibilities. Secondary responsibilities will include general IT or office work.
Requirements:
- Associates degree in information technology field or similar technical certifications.
- Technical background with 1-3 years of applicable work experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Organization and ability to prioritize multiple projects and assignments.
- Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team.
- U.S. Person under ITAR and EAR (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent legal resident, or “protected person” under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))
