Full Job Description
Wittenberg University is accepting applications for the position of Mailroom Staff Assistant to provide support to the Mailroom Coordinator for operations in the mailroom, student mailroom, and Copy Center. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt position, working approximately 40 hours per week.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Assist in maintaining efficient mailroom functions for the campus and student mailrooms.
Provide backup to Copy Center.
Process outgoing mail, packages, etc.
Respond to questions and issues presented by students regarding mail issues and operations.
Assist in supervising student employees in campus and student mailrooms.
Stay current on postal regulations and maintain accounts at the post office.
Prioritize mailings and sort/distribute mail to campus departments.
Maintain departmental reports.
Communicate with departments on upcoming jobs.
Assist customers with outgoing mail and packaging processes.
Maintain working knowledge of BCC Mail Manager LE.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned such as special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc.
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
1-3 years of relevant experience.
Previous experience using BCC Mail Manager LE is preferred.
Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office software, specifically proficient in the use of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability and desire to learn additional software applications as necessary.
Demonstration of excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruption.
Demonstration of the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (with assistance) on a regular basis.
