Job Title: Facilities Manager
Reports to: Operations Director / Lead Pastor
Hours: Full-Time (Flexible schedule as determined)
Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to steward the facilities God has given the church, by maintaining the general upkeep and repair of the buildings, campus, and landscaping of SVA Church. The Facilities Manager will be the primary manager who maintains our campus, while also leading a team of volunteers to best mobilize to keep the building and landscape in a “visitor ready” state. At SVA Church, we strive to be a creative, life-giving, and transformative community that engages, equips, and reaches people of all ages & backgrounds with the hope of Christ — and the physical environment that this position will help foster and maintain is an essential component of seeing that mission advanced.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities: ~5-10 hrs/week
- Attend monthly all-staff meeting and meet weekly with Operations Director.
- Work with ministry leads to coordinate room setups and tear downs for events and ministries. This includes setup/tear-down of tables, chairs, trash, etc.
- Stay informed and aware of the facility calendar and events on campus.
- In partnership with the Operations Director, recruit, implement, and oversee volunteer custodial, maintenance and landscaping teams of lay congregation members.
- Offer support to SVA Staff with special facility projects and events throughout the year.
General Cleanliness: ~5 hrs/week
- Ensure that all SVA Facilities are ready for guests throughout the week. As primary cleaning is done by outsourced cleaning company, the Facilities Lead will primarily focus on daily touch ups and light cleanliness throughout the week. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Bathroom touch ups and restocks
- Trash maintenance
- Floor cleanliness (Moping, sweeping, vacuuming)
- Clearing clutter and proper storage of both indoor and outdoor spaces
- Communicating with Operations Director and/or Facility Cleaners on schedules and which spaces need further attention
Repairs and Maintenance: ~15-20 hrs/week
The Facilities Lead will oversee, manage, and carry out/contract out the necessary maintenance on all SVA facilities, landscaping, and vehicle needs. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Make building repairs and assist Operations Director in arranging outside repair services when necessary.
- Keep a record of regular maintenance done on buildings and grounds and a list of projects to do. This includes, but is not limited to: lighting, painting, structural repairs, broken parts, etc.
- Communicate with Operations Director concerning special projects or help needed in particular areas.
- Stay informed and aware of the facility calendar and events.
- Follow weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly facility plans. The Facilities Lead is to also be a self-starter to address projects and initiatives that they notice on their own.
- Keep campus up to code with safety inspections.
- Offer support to Operations Director with facility inventory needs.
Landscaping: Spring/Summer Hours Increase
Primarily during Spring/Summer months, the Facilities Lead will ensure that the SVA outdoor campus is ready for guests throughout the week. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Mowing and edging or overseeing volunteer teams in this area
- Weed control in flower beds, parking lot areas, and around the buildings
- Proper care of bark and gravel areas
- Proper watering and care for plants
- Removal of dead and invasive species
- Picking up of trash, items, or objects around the campus
- Clearing and proper storage of any clutter around the exterior of the buildings
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A mature, strong, and growing relationship with Jesus, heart for the local church, and a passion to see individuals and families in the Snoqualmie Valley be transformed by the Gospel. (Although not a direct Pastoral position, this area of work is a ministry of its own that takes dedication, care, and stewardship to lay a foundation for Gospel impact and transformation. Therefore, it is essential that this individual not only be skilled in the necessary work for this role – but, is also invested in the mission and purpose of SVA Church.)
- General construction, building maintenance, landscaping skills and experience.
- Dependable, self-starter with initiative to get things done without direct supervision.
- Attention to detail in regards to maintaining an overall environment of cleanliness and care for the campus.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, tasks, and lines of communication simultaneously.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
