What you’ll do
The Environmental Specialist is responsible for supporting the plant strategy on Environmental issues for the Cytiva Logan facility. The Environmental Specialist works under the direction and supervision of the EHS Leader. This individual will also function in a team environment to ensure Environmental compliance and identify, prevent and resolve potential EHS issues and to mitigate EHS liabilities associated with current operations.
Implement and maintain compliance in the specific aspects of air, waste, water, and chemical management.
Function in a team environment to conduct EHS inspections, analyse and maintain EHS recordkeeping systems, conduct EHS training, and participate in EHS program activities to ensure regulatory compliance and employee safety.
Assist certain assigned aspects (technical, regulatory/third party interface, reporting, permitting, compliance, financial, administrative, etc.) of Cytiva Logan projects and permits in compliance with relevant regulatory programs and Cytiva corporate policies.
Track site progress on environmental compliance and initiatives, and update EHS Leader or site Leadership on progress.
Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans.
Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to site EHS Leader to ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements. Participate in EHS compliance and program audits of manufacturing and engineering operations.
Ensure compliance of plant operations with regulatory requirements relating to air, waste, water, and chemical management.
Perform associated and other duties as required.
Who you are
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational and Environmental, Health, and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Hydrogeology, Geology, or related Environmental technical discipline.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Environmental or Health and Safety activities in a manufacturing environment.
Regulatory knowledge, familiarity or experience working under U.S. federal and state and/or equivalent regulations covering CERCLA, RCRA, OSHA, TSCA, etc. and capable of learning requirements.
Demonstrated project and program management skills.
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and other responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment.
