Job Description
The Systems Administrator is responsible for installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and applications (including web-based) that support the software development team. The individual will participate in technical discussions with other team members, and provide subject matter expertise on IT systems-related issues.

This position is located onsite at the US Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba

Job Responsibilities

Engineer solutions to support various project and operational needs
Install / rebuild existing systems, storage, applications, etc. in accordance with industry and DoD (Department of Defense) standards, and project requirements
Maintain Active Directory (AD), DNS, group policies, and other enterprise-level services
Manage resources used to support virtualized servers and workstations
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
Perform daily system monitoring; verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes; reviewing systems and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs, such as backups
Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software necessary to support mission requirements
Install patches, apply security settings, and perform regular monitoring to ensure the security posture of systems
Perform backups of all data, and maintain disaster recovery plans
Lead all troubleshooting resolution efforts and make recommendations to improve system availability
Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies, industry standards, and DoD directives, as assigned

Required Qualifications
Must hold a Top Secret Clearance
Must have technical certifications and training, and/or work experience
Certification Requirements: a current DoD IAT-II Certification consisting of one of the following: CompTIA Security+ (Plus), CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP; and a Current Computing Environment certificate.
2-5 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis
Experience installing and maintaining Microsoft operating systems (Windows Server 2012 or 2016, Windows 10)
Experience managing Active Directory and group policies
Working knowledge of server hardware (RAID, clustering, virtualization, etc.)
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking (DNS, VLANs, access control lists, etc.)
Understanding of IT Security best practices to meet DoD STIGs within the Risk Management Framework
Experience administering VMWare vSphere 6.5 and SAN storage solutions
Experience administering Microsoft SQL 2012/2016 database environments
This role may involve some physical activity, standing or sitting for long periods of time, assisting with assembly/disassembly of IT equipment, etc.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 10.0 or later
Experience administering Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2017
