Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively participates in the design, development and production of environmental graphics
  • Manages and prepares plans, schedules, sections, elevations and drawing packages
  • Manages the budget, scope and schedule for the environmental graphic design portion of a project
  • Ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs Manager of any potential variances to the budget
  • Mentors the work of junior designers
  • Support the lead graphic designer across a broad range of client initiatives
  • Creates innovative, creative and complete design concepts and presents to clients
  • Conducts client interviews to determine environmental graphic requirements
  • Work across the organization, facilitating timely and outcome driven communication between all design teams/ disciplines

Desired skills and expertise:
  • 5+ years of environmental graphic design experience with supporting portfolio
  • Mastery over Adobe CS and SketchUp (or similar 3D visualization/ rendering tools)
  • Expert visual sense and understanding of typography, composition, multiple media platforms, legibility, standards development, documentation, fabrication and implementation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphics, Industrial Design or Interior Design: equivalent experience may be substituted
  • Expert knowledge of working drawings and procedures
  • Experience with complex way finding and signage systems
  • Knowledge of ADA standards
  • Demonstrated competency in all phases of environmental graphics
  • Ability to coordinate custom solutions with fabricator and installer
  • Retail design experience
  • Extensive presentation and graphic communication skills, able to fully express design concepts to clients
  • Proficient in laying out print materials: books, posters, large scale exhibits
  • UI/UX design for mobile, touch, and multi-screen / multi-user displays a plus
