Working Title: Sr. Integrations/Middleware Developer

Location: 400 S. Fort Harrison Ave.; Clearwater, FL 33756

The Business Technology Services (BTS) Department is seeking a senior level middleware administrator/developer to join our team. This role will be focused on leveraging our enterprise service bus to develop new integrations as well as modernize existing integrations across our enterprise systems. Work requires creative and original thinking with extensive latitude for individual initiative, judgment and discretion. This position is responsible for providing 24x7 operational and production support for our integrations through the enterprise service bus. In addition to our excellent benefits, we seek to send our team members to training and conferences on an on-going basis.

Position Specific Qualifications

7 years of technical and professional experience in information technology in at least 3 of the 6 required areas of experience listed below; or
Associate’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer technology, or related field and 5 years of technical and professional experience in information technology in at least 3 of the 6 required areas of experience listed below; or
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer technology, or related field and 3 years of technical and professional experience in information technology in at least 3 of the 6 required areas of experience listed below; or
Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer technology, or related field and 1 year of technical and professional experience in information technology in at least 3 of the 6 required areas of experience listed below; or
An equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience.

Required Areas of Experience:
Experience with managing an enterprise service bus using Software AG products.
Proficiency with Java, J2EE, SQL, PL/SQL, REST and SOAP-based web services, Oracle JDeveloper 11g/12c, and Oracle SQL Developer.
Experience integrating disparate applications, software, or components with tools such as web services, workflow, BPM, BPEL, message oriented middleware, enterprise service bus technology, or custom integration via API.
Experience modernizing legacy integrations and applications to meet current technical architectural requirements.
Experience with Oracle technology stack (Database, Fusion Middleware, SOA Suite, Oracle Application Express, WebCenter Portal, Oracle Data Integrator, etc.)
Experience with administration of enterprise J2EE application servers (Oracle WebLogic preferred).
Additional Requirements

1 year of professional team leadership or supervision in the assigned subject matter tasks.
Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
Provide after-hours support as needed to maintain 24x7 availability on a rotating schedule.
Must be able to pass a federal background check and become CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Systems) certified.
Highly Desirable

Proven application development track record with demonstrated expert level technical skills, dependability, judgment, integrity, communications and initiative.
Ability to effectively manage and perform daily activities with minimal guidance.
Desire and proven ability to learn and apply new skills.
Systems analysis, software design and development with at least 5 years of experience in a Java environment.
Experience architecting, designing, and developing applications based on component based architectures, object oriented programming, and service oriented architecture.
Experience utilizing source and version control systems, including branching and merging project versions (Subversion preferred).
Experience with Agile Scrum a strong plus.
Experience with JUnit, SoapUI, Apache Maven/Ivy/Nexus, Hudson, Ant, or similar tools a strong plus.

Perform administrative duties for the enterprise service bus.
Develop solutions for new integrations using the enterprise service bus.
Identify older integrations and develop solutions to modernize/retrofit the integration using the enterprise service bus.
Provide backup support for existing Java and .net applications
Technical troubleshooting of applications and database systems
Participates in project work providing support to project teams, with the ability to lead large efforts.
Utilize beneficial technology, industry best practices, champion its adoption, and provides direction/ leadership to the Enterprise Business and Applications Services group while working through appropriate channels/processes.
Maintains and builds positive relationships within the BTS Team and with members of other County Agencies and Vendors.
Supports and ensures compliance with the BTS Solution Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
Provides technical mentoring as needed to ensure that single points of failure are eliminated.
Stays on the cutting edge of relevant technology by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
Accomplishes organizational goals by taking ownership of assignments and driving issues to a successful close, even when accountability for those issues crosses organizational boundaries.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
Knowledge of integrations using an enterprise service bus.
Knowledge of WebLogic is desired.
