New product development is responsible for sourcing and launching new businesses across the healthcare industry. Serving as a major growth engine for Optum Insights, new ventures works closely with Optum leadership and collaborates with existing business unit leaders and innovation teams to generate growth from “white space” opportunities, with a special emphasis on ideas that span industry sub-sectors.

This product management role is a senior level position responsible for driving the product roadmap for the technology component patient acquisition managed service. The role requires an individual with strong analytical and communication skills, high adaptability, strong domain expertise, as well as an entrepreneurial mindset and product management skills. This individual is primarily responsible creating a distinctive product vision, managing the multi-year product roadmap, and creating an effective engineering partnership to deliver a market-leading solution. You will be empowered to do your best to develop the strategy and vision for product roadmaps that align with data strategies, establish collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders, gather accurate requirements and evaluate product performance to enhance our mission of helping people live healthier lives.

Primary Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and continually refine product roadmap and vision for user experience
Understand customer needs and develop innovation solutions
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across functions, including clients
Partner with data science colleagues to apply advanced analytic techniques such as predictive modeling (e.g. sentiment, propensity, segmentation, clustering, retention, profitability, etc.)
Gather accurate technical requirements and evaluate product performance
Oversee the development backlog, prioritizing new features, enhancements and defects against clear business priorities
Partner with UX strategy, product design, and data science colleagues to lead product discovery, usability, and user research workshop to ensure that we are building high value, usable features
Oversee the rollout of predictable, high-quality product releases
Translate product roadmap into marketing collateral and support go-to market efforts

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
7-10 years of product management/development experience
Experience with advanced analytics and root cause analysis
Travel up to 25%
Effective formal presentation and facilitation skills in a variety of settings
Demonstrable understanding of agile methodologies
Experience with consumer products or digital strategy

Preferred Qualifications:
Healthcare experience
Degree in Entrepreneurial, Design disciplines (Human Centered Design)
Digital marketing and/or customer relationship management software experience
Advanced degree
Client-facing experience
Live within a commutable distance to Washington DC
Proven ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment
Excellent verbal communication and exceptional writing / editing skills
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
Ability to navigate an ambiguous environment can effectively cope with change, can shift gears comfortably, can decide and act without having the total picture
Strong initiative and self - motivation
