Technical Sales Manager – Animal Nutrition

Specialist Nutrition, the leading brewery and distillery by-product management company in Ireland is establishing a new branch in New York State to bring its unique by-product management solutions to the US market.The company is part of the Irish owned Arvum Group, which has over a century of experience and success in the agricultural sector.

We are seeking to employ a Dairy Sales Nutritionist to join our team and help drive the growth of our operations from a start-up in NY. This exciting opportunity will suit a technically strong and commercially driven dairy nutritionist with excellent communication and relationship building skills.

Main Duties:

· Technical Sales Manager for our animal feed products in the New York State area

· Develop & expand our customer base and sales volumes in line with agreed targets

· Increase market awareness and enhance the image of the business as a leading provider of innovative dairy feed solutions to farmers

· Provide product training & advice to farmers, farmer groups and consultants

· Identify opportunities in the distribution network to improve customer service, efficiency, product value and company profitability

· Develop a strong relationship with key academic and industry contacts to promote education and understanding of our business and products

· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

· 5+ years of nutrition led sales experience with a strong dairy background

· An ability to formulate dairy diets and confidently and competently engage in technical discussions with farmers and nutrition consultants

· Proven experience in new business development in the agricultural sector

· Commercial acumen and ambition to achieve commercial objectives

· Proven ability to build strong working relationships with farmers, consultants and other influencers to enhance our reputation and presence in the market

· The ideal candidate will already have a developed network of contacts within the farming sector

· Excellent communication skills with professional English language skills (verbal and written). Spanish language skills would be an advantage.

· Excellent presentation skills and experienced presenter to small and large audiences

· Strong and structured team player

· Excellent knowledge of best practice in dairy nutrition and a keen interest in new technology/innovation

· BS (MS Preferred) in Dairy Science or a related discipline

· The role will be based in Central New York; candidates must have a disposition to travel regularly within the area (min. at least 75% of work-time)

· Valid Driving License required
