Senior Full Stack Engineer, Digital Innovation Lab
Baxter International - Medical Devices/Pharma
Deerfield. IL (Flexible/Hybrid) OR Open to Remote
The budgeted midpoint of the salary range for this position is $160,000.00; in addition, there are annual bonus and stock grant opportunities.

You’ll have complete, end-to-end engineering/ownership of innovation projects across the entire stack
Ideal candidate has experience building products across the stack/firm understanding of cloud architecture, web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back-end languages
Collaborate with/across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions in full stack development tools/ technologies

Willingness to actively participate in all aspects of the SDLC, including/not limited to story refinement, estimation & planning, platform design & implementation, test & deployment automation, and platform resiliency and support
Develops databases using MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle and SQL Server as well as various serverless databases
Works with end users/other team members to gain a solid understanding of requirements and document as needed
Create seamless user experiences across multiple platforms while supporting a wide variety of use cases across patients, mobile providers, hospital staff, and more
Create well-designed test cases and be familiar with testing guidelines/best practices
Develop visually appealing front end website architecture, including translating designer mock-ups and wireframes into front-end code
Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth
Design user interactions on web pages
Develop functional databases, applications, and servers to support websites on the back end
Ensure cross-platform optimization for developed applications
Explore/introduce innovative development techniques/technologies
Stay current/provide insight on cutting edge software approaches/architectures
Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are being considered when architecting solutions
Own the whole SDLCfor new features, including service ownership, testing, CI/CD, troubleshooting, and support
Work on integration issues/determine the integration approach. Coordinate with other areas for integration architecture solutions
Participate in all aspects of agile software development including design, implementation, deployment, and promoting knowledge management of the POC
Architect/provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed/scale
Collaborate with global team located across multiple time zones and in the newly formed Digital Innovation Lab
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.
7+ years of experience building, testing, and deploying large-or medium-scale software applications with automated processes as a Full stack software developer/engineer, preferably with Lab experience
Experience building web and mobile applications, plus bots – new channels is bots -
Experience designing/integrating RESTful and SOAP APIs
Experience with Machine Learning and/or data analytics
Experience with Docker
Expertise with third-party libraries like jQuery, LESS, Angular and ReactJS
Knowledge of multiple back-end\server-side programming languages like Java, Python, Ruby, .Net etc.
Expertise in at least one DBMS technologies like MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, Snowflake, and SQLServer. (not looking for all) – have hands on experience rather than a certification
Knowledge of caching mechanisms like varnish, Memcached, Redis is a plus
Knowledge about security concerns at each layer of the stack and data protection
Familiarity with any of the common stacks: LAMP, LEMP, MERN, MEAN, Django and Ruby on Rails
Experience in implementing high-scale modern cloud architectures preferably in AWS using serverless components, micro-services, and cloud-based container platforms (IaaS/PaaS) Excellent debugging and optimization skills
Unit/integration testing experience
DevOps and CI/CD experience
A proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on technical projects
Prior experience in a Digital Innovation Lab is a plus (Lab mindset)
