Progeny Systems Corporation is a privately-held, high-tech small business focusing on software and hardware system integration, cutting-edge research and development, and manufacturing. We provide premium systems, services, and products for the Department of Defense, government agencies and commercial clients. Progeny Systems is seeking a highly motivated, mid/senior level engineer (5-15 years) to support development and delivery of critical systems for the US Navy. Must possess excellent verbal and written communications, and be a fast learner. Must be a self-starter who works well with minimal direction or supervision in a team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides support to the Submarine Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) Integration and Test (I&T) engineers for the conduct of CWL testing and documentation development. Success in this position requires an assertive, professional, and confident attitude, with the ability to interact with other engineering groups within Progeny, as well as outside activities to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret requirements and develop tests to satisfy those requirements. Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions. Candidate will work in a fast-paced integrated product development team that includes representatives from multiple contracting organizations and DoD laboratory entities. Develops and analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5-10 years Submarine network based (AN/BYG-1 preferred or AN/BQQ-10) experience or similar experience in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Can transform knowledge found in engineering documentation and distill it down to what the equipment users need to know to operate and maintain the CWL. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Some travel required to support test events occurring in various partner & government labs.
Development of test procedures
Assist in performing test and analysis
Debug tests and procedures
Perform logical validation process of failures
Performs installation, testing, and validation of tactical systems
Responsible for development and execution of performance test scenarios
Support informal and formal test events, load file stability, testing and other customer driven test activities
Regularly record and report progress of plans and procedures development and test execution
Identify, analyze, and document software and hardware defects and work with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues
Develops Factory Operations and Maintenance training
Develops operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and installation procedures
Develops reliability and maintainability estimates
Develops preventative maintenance procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Software and Hardware test and analysis
Microsoft Office Products
In depth knowledge of Statistical Tools.
Knowledge of network configurations and operations is required
Knowledge of Navy 3M programs
Knowledge of IETM and Training Development
Navy or Submarine experience is a plus
5-10 Years relevant experience with the above tasks.
This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
Physical and Mental Requirements for all positions:
- Prolonged stationary periods at a desk

- Ability to stay focused and provide attention to detail.
