Metropolitan St Louis Psychiatric Center has an opening for an Accounting Clerk to work in our Accounting Department. The physical work location is at 5351 Delmar Blvd, St Louis, MO 63112. You can fax your resume to fax to (314) 877-0639.

This position is working Monday Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm with Sunday/Saturday/Holidays off.

May work 10hours 6:00am to 4:30pm

This is a specialized clerical work maintaining financial documents, records, and reports

Performs clerical functions in the preparation, maintenance, recording, and examination of financial data.
Examines and processes invoices; compares purchase orders and delivery receipts; and computes and prepares billing documents.
Reviews financial documents to determine accuracy of figures and mathematical computations; identifies discrepancies and takes authorized corrective action.
Balances incoming funds and prepares bank deposits.
Monitors and maintains ledgers, registers, and journals; posts financial data to proper accounts.
Records and distributes expenditures according to a cost allocation plan; researches, prepares, verifies, and/or disburses authorized refunds and adjustments.
Generates and compiles routine financial reports; maintains financial files.
Compiles financial information to assist with the budget process.
Supervises clerical staff performing routine record maintenance and/or clerical functions.
Exercises judgment and discretion within the limits of established policies and procedures; receives general administrative direction.
Performs other related work as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF WORK (But Not Limited To):
Processing PO documents and payments and ensuring checks go out to vendors
Process expense reports for various facilities
Assist with inventory control and asset tracking
Maintains the check log, pager report and WEX receipt log.
Prepare reports and maintain spreadsheets
Use of SAM II computer system
File documents
Email communications with various staff members
Perform other related work as assigned
Intermediate knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
Introductory knowledge of financial recordkeeping principles, practices, and terminology.
Ability to make accurate mathematical calculations.
Ability to accurately maintain records utilizing automated and manual accounting systems.
Ability to use office equipment, personal computer, and automated systems.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively.

Considerable knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
Ability to multi-task and complete tasks in an organized manner
Ability to expedite a voluminous flow of detailed work.
Ability to make arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy
Visual ability in reading and using a large volume of written and numerical data
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees
Possession of valid driver's license

One or more years of business or governmental financial recordkeeping experience including mathematical computations; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

(30 earned credit hours from an accredited college or university which includes three earned credit hours in Accounting may substitute for the required experience.)
