Kennett Area Senior Center, located in Kennett Square, Chester County, PA, seeks a dynamic, highly organized, goal oriented Assistant Director with strong managerial skills to assist the Executive Director in daily operations of the nonprofit. The candidate will oversee staff, facilities, regulatory compliance, and develop and evaluate programs and services to ensure effectiveness. The full-time position is available immediately. General Description: Assists the Executive Director in daily operations. Develop and evaluate the programs and services to ensure effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Assume the duties of the Executive Director in his/her absence
  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all staff
  • Oversee all program/service coordinators in research and development of programs/ classes and services that attract and retain members
  • Works with Executive Director to prepare annual budget and monthly financial reports
  • Assembles committee reports and makes available for distribution all information for monthly Board meetings
  • Develop incentives and recruit consumers to join as members, support, and remain active with Kennett Area Senior Center
  • Implement a plan that solicits feedback from consumers on all programs and services
  • With the Executive Director, work to promote across the business community the services of KASC as a value-adding benefit for their older workers
  • Coordinate with Executive Director to identify and participate in networking opportunities in the community
  • Responsible for the general upkeep of all physical facilities and equipment
  • Assures compliance with nonprofit local, county, state and federal regulations
  • Coordinates with the Borough for required periodic safety inspections. Initiates any corrective actions
  • Publicizes facilities rental opportunities and coordinate room rentals with individuals and groups; contact room rental supervisors to work on rental days
  • Attends finance committee meetings
  • Assists in other areas as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in delegating and supervising employees
  • Negotiating skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial reports, procedure manuals, relevant literature, and other publications
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook and preferably QuickBooks and Access
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • CPR certification or ability to obtain is mandatory
