Building Manager Job Description
Perform general repairs in the building as necessary
Coordinate architects, engineers, governmental agencies, vendors, utilities and contractors to obtain required services for projects.
Hiring of outside contractors as necessary and ascertaining that all projects are in accordance with Township building codes.
Arrange and ensure compliance with required building and equipment inspections.
Maintain and prioritize the safety and security of students and staff when in the building.
Inspect building and grounds on regular basis to determine needed maintenance and repairs
Coordinate and inspect major contract work on the electrical, plumbing, boiler and other related systems.
Develop a preventative maintenance program for the purpose of ensuring the school is maintained in a safe condition.
Facilitate meetings for the purpose of identifying issues, developing recommendations.
Inspect all aspects of new construction, projects, repair work, equipment and daily maintenance for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently, specifications are within regulatory requirements and inspection reports and payment requests are correct.
Maintain supplies inventory and place orders as needed
Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
Complete work orders on a timely basis as requested by other staff members. Work orders should be completed within one week or a reason for non completion should be communicated to the originator of the work order as well as your supervisors.
Maintain proper and sufficient communication with your supervisors on all relevant matters related to your job responsibilities.
Work with school personnel over the summer to organize contractors, assist in getting school ready for upcoming school year.
