Production Shift Manager Off-Shift
Responsible for day-to-day supervision of Operations on off-shifts, including safety, quality, engagement and production output. Works with day-shift Value Stream Managers to ensure line-specific actions are sustained through the off-shifts. VSLs will Matrix Report to this role, directly reporting to the day-shift, line specific VSMs
1. Scope of Accountability
Leadership: Lead directly & indirectly across functions to achieve goals
People: Support VSMs in the development of off-shift VSLs, TLs and Team Members, ensure teams held accountable to the same expectation as delivered on day shift
Performance: Shift targets and performance Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost
2. Key Responsibilities
Develop, coach and hold line supervisors accountable to adhere to GKN processes
Ensure all new and "in-training" assembly operators follow the documented training plan, including 30, 60 and 90 day reviews.
Lead cross functional teamwork on the off-shift, escalating issues through all functions/levels of the business
Ensure team meetings take place at shift change
Adhere to change logs and change Management processes
Ensure all functions escalate in line with documented escalation procedure
Ensure shift report to the other VSMs and Ops Manager is completed daily
Ensure all processes and procedures within GKN are followed correctly, and deviations/changes to the processes are documented and approved through the proper change management controls.
Safety: On time near miss reporting, containment and resolution of all EHS concerns
Quality: Maintain proper material storage, inventory accuracy and scrap/rework transactions. Drive NRFT improvements and scrap reduction in line with budget.
Delivery: Maintain inventory accuracy and finished goods bank through strict adherence to build plan. Manage changeovers and hourly targets in line with expected performance.
Productivity: Manage labor and overtime to achieve the build plan at the required productivity, including monitoring downtime and taking quick action to resolve
People: Support people plans for each Value Stream
Four year Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
10 years of high volume industrial manufacturing experience, preferably in a lean automotive environment
