In the role of Vice President of Marketing, you are responsible to plan and execute the company’s marketing efforts. As a member of the senior leadership team reporting to the CEO, you will be a valuable contributor to the development of the overall corporate strategy. Leveraging the hand2mind brands, industry knowledge and innovative product, you will manage a dynamic team to grow revenue and market share through multiple sales channels including direct sales, company website, online marketplaces and affiliate partners, direct mail, and competitive bids and RFPs.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Implement and manage our brand strategy to drive an organizational transition to a brand-driven demand-creation culture. Upgrade team by adding skills and capabilities to build top notch brand experience for schools, teachers and consumers at home.
Develop long-term and short-term marketing strategy for hand2mind brands across education, eCommerce (Amazon) and reseller channels. Develop or utilize market research as needed. Strategy must reflect the educational mission of the house brand.
Establish the appropriate marketing mix and level of investment for the three primary sales channels. Support recommendations with relevant performance metrics.
Build out an entrepreneurial team in cooperation with Sales leadership to capture the opportunities presented by online marketplaces. Needs include data analytics, brand awareness programs, meaningful PR impressions, social outreach across multiple platforms, online marketing, competitive surveillance and analysis, etc.
Provide cross-functional leadership to ensure the marketing calendar is integrated with the sales, product development and operations plan.
Develop analytical metrics to measure brand experience and to assess progress toward goals. Develop value-added product management function to influence the product development process.
Partner with sales to provide marketing support appropriate to the evolving marketplace. Evaluate legacy marketing processes and reallocate resource as appropriate. Help shape sales approach to trade sales and promotion. Work on strategic approach to coordinated investment in print and online communication, as well as packaging and other touch points on the customer journey.
Be a member of the company senior leadership team with responsibility for overall strategic direction and operations of the company, including budget and planning. Develop and manage the company marketing budget.
Oversee the talent development and career development of the hand2mind marketing team. Provide regular feedback on goals and company competencies. Assess competency gaps in the department and create a plan to address human capital needs.

Bachelor's Degree required, advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of branded marketing experience.
Experience with online marketplaces a plus.
Classroom or school administration experience a plus.
Excellent financial, quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to lead projects requiring synthesis of data into actionable insights.
Demonstrated ability in integrating strategies that involve complex sales cycles with a multichannel distribution strategy.
Proven success in a lean, hands-on environment where strategic thought and tactical execution are required.
Effective communication with key stakeholders including colleagues, executive team, vendors, and customers.
Strong motivation to excel in pursuit of challenging goals
