POSITION PURPOSE
Serves in a key Human Resources (HR) position within the HR and/or a dedicated Regional Health Ministry (RHM)/Business & Support Service Line providing strategic and collaborative support participating in the design, development, communication and delivery of HR programs, services and initiatives intended to meet the needs of the RHM/Business Line. Supports the strategic alignment of HR services and initiatives to drive enhancement of both RHM/Business Line and Ministry. Provides specialized and comprehensive expertise in the development, delivery and administration of the annual RHM/Business Line HR strategic plan and initiatives; ensures HR programs meet expectations, identifies strengths and areas for improvements; ensures HR processes and procedures are communicated and aligned throughout the RHM/Business Line; supports the design and development of the measures and metrics to support business needs; performs analytical support to understand business, operational and HR related performance; and performs local activities and other non-HR related tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supports RHM/Business Leaders in the development of the annual RHM/Business Line HR strategy, workforce plan, supporting service strategy and other initiatives. Ensures HR programs meet expectations; identifies strengths and areas for improvement. Ensures HR processes and procedures are communicated, implemented and aligned throughout the RHM/Business Line.

Participates with and supports Talent Management AoE to leverage Talent Management systems/tools to identify, align and develop human capital capabilities to achieve business results. Participates in Talent Management AoE activities supporting the design and development of applicable programs and tools; on-board and acclimate new hires through orientation sessions; establishes and utilizes measures and metrics to diagnose and analyze future talent requirements; reviews position requisitions to ensure that staffing plans are aligned with organization spans-of-control and budgeted allocations; coordinates the use of temporary labor to support business needs; supports the design, development, implementation and ongoing assessment, evaluation and enhancement of Talent Development and Talent Stewardship programs, and supports the establishment of policies and procedures for engaging RHM/Business Leaders regarding on-going performance assessment and development.

Participates with and supports Change, Culture and Engagement to ensure a consistent practice of change enablement at the local RHM/Business & Support Line. Provides leadership to implement programs and tools for Change, Culture and Engagement efforts, i.e., Practice on Purpose, Culture Circles and an integrated change strategy and plan. Supports engagement with system-wide Change Leadership, Cultural Transformation and Engagement activities to equip and enable leaders and associates to lead change and drive associate engagement and satisfaction across the system; and gathers actionable data and performs research to provide insights on associate engagement and satisfaction.

Participates with and supports RHM/Business Leaders to identify and determine local business needs with regard to Total Rewards. Participates in Total Rewards AoE activities including driving pay practices, identifying need to adjust practices at the local level; initiates yearly variable compensation planning efforts; and leads administration of Service Recognition Programs at the RHM/Business. Provides support in conducting internal and external job content analysis to assign titles and determine pay level/grade, inclusive of compiling and analyzing market-based compensation data to internal jobs and/or job grades, and developing and documenting job description requirements.

Contributes and serves as a resource to RHM/Business Leaders and Associate & Labor Relations AoE in addressing associate and labor relations needs for the system including labor contract interpretation, associate or management investigations, EEO, DOL, MIOSHA compliant administration and responding to litigation matters. Implements local associate relations programs/interventions to support achievement of an outstanding work experience for each associate.

Contributes and serves as a resource to RHM/Business Leaders, MD&A AoE, MD&A Planning Group and other HR Leaders in the design, development, integration and implementation of HR programs and policies for the post-deal organization, including the integration and ongoing local oversight of culture, operations and infrastructure.

Participates in and supports appropriate workforce measures and metrics needed to provide on-going assessment of associate performance and overall business impact. Analyzes and presents workforce measures and other related metrics to RHM/Business Leaders for use in resolving issues and driving business decisions.

Performs local activities and other non-HR related tasks to support the RHM/Business Line, as business needs dictate, (e.g., Payroll, Security, etc.).

Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively more responsible human resources related experience, including Total Rewards, Employee and Labor Relations; Mergers, Divestitures and Acquisitions; Culture and Change Management; Talent Management and Organizational Development. Prior program development and project management experience preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years prior related experience within the healthcare industry preferred.

Considerable in-depth knowledge and understanding and at least five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in human resources practices and employment laws and regulations, and governmental and legislative requirements.

Project management skills including the ability to define project objectives, identify stakeholders and their interests, plan steps, and coordinate resources to accomplish goals and objectives in an effective and timely manner.

Ability to respond to variable situations requiring analytical, interpretative, evaluative and constructive thinking abilities. Considerable logical and deductive reasoning abilities.

Considerable analytical and problem solving skills in order to anticipate issues and independently generate new ideas with several alternatives to complex and broad reaching situations while applying extensive Human Resources experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills for varied interactions. Ability to influence and anticipate the needs of others while acting as a subject matter expert. Ability to coach, mentor and provide guidance to lower level colleagues. Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills and ability to manage and complete work in an efficient and thorough manner.

Understanding of organizational structure, business operations, financial impact/analysis-bottom line understanding.

Proficiency in software programs including Microsoft Office. Strong Excel skills in order to develop and maintain spreadsheets and perform data analysis. Familiarity with PeopleSoft preferred.

Must be discrete and maintain the highest confidentiality with extremely sensitive data.

Strong interpersonal, consultative and relationship building skills in order to initiate and develop productive working partnerships with management and staff. Ability to read the subtle nuances of situations and react/plan accordingly.

Proven customer-service orientation. Ability to know and understand customer requirements and exercise judgment in meeting reasonable expectations.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to set and organize own work priorities, and adapt to them as they change frequently. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles. Ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects simultaneously and adapt to interruptions.

Operates in a typical office environment. The area is well-lit, temperature controlled and free from hazards.

Communicates frequently, in person and over the phone, with people in all locations. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communication. Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a computer keyboard.

Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites as needed.

Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
