Purpose of the Position
A guest service/security combination. To ensure overall security of the hotel promises and staff as well as guest. Keeping an eye on loitering and trespassing on the property. Making sure guests have a safe and pleasant stay. The Assistant Innkeeper works with the General Manager and has the responsibility of participating in the Inn's daily operations.
Activities include all aspects of housekeeping, front desk reception (check-in), overnight shift, breakfast service, guest services, reservations, building and grounds maintenance.
Responsibilities of the Position
Perform all hotel FD operation duties including check In, check out and Pantry
Ensure smooth running of nightly operations and provide leadership and support to all residents
Deescalate tense situations through appropriate security measures and communications
Walk property to insure safety and security of building
Ability to articulate safety rules for the property to unwanted visitors
Monitor and view property camera systems
Remain composed and respond quickly and effectively to all incidents, including emergency situations related to fire, life, health, safety, and security and communicate to outside authorities if needed (Police/Fire/Paramedic)
Excellent knowledge of front desk and property operations
Bring a positive attitude at every moment and exceed guests expectations - represent our company and our guests in a professional manner
Take detailed and accurate notes on all safety and security incidents and report back to General Manager
Ensure every guests receives exceptional customer service through warm greetings and farewells, and improvised solutions, if needed.

Assist guest with lots cal area activities
Check in and check out guest in a professional manner.
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Maintain cleanliness of front office, registration area and back lobby.
Prospect new sales opportunities by inquiring the reason for the stay.
Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Maintain complete knowledge at all times of:
All hotel features/services, hours of operation.
All room rates, special packages and promotions.
Daily house count and expected arrivals/departures.
Service standards and specific hotel policies.
Answer department telephone within three rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
Process all guest check-ins.
Verify guest length of stay, rates (as applicable).
Obtain back-up information for guest credit/payment method and input into system;
Handle overbooked guests.
Accept and record wake-up call requests.
Monitor, send and distribute guest faxes and emails.
Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments/personnel (i.e., special requests, amenity delivery).
Resolve discrepancies on the room status report with Housekeeping.
Complete daily checklist.
Process all checkouts.
Responsible for cleanliness, orderliness and appearance of hotel public spaces.
folding towels and counting linen deliveries.
Maintain all necessary guest room and office supplies
Inspect all stay overs and check out rooms twice. Once as dirty and once as clean.
Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry.
Deliver towels, cribs, cots and other items to the guest rooms on requests.
Perform duties of room attendant when necessary. e.g early checkout, Short Staff
Sort linen, stock room attendant closets, take inventory
Organize all storage rooms
prepare all weekly supplies order lists including guest supplies and cleaning supplies.
Complete EOD and send it to RDO.
Complete incident reports and send them to Corp office.
Keep a daily journal of activity and guest complaints at the FD
Make sure all necessary keys are present
Keep the office and lobby area clean and free of trash and make sure the lobby fragrance is on.
