Seeking a contractual, part-time Legal Writer for a nationally recognized, full-service Immigration Law Office.
Grossman Young & Hammond is not your typical law firm. Women-owned with a diverse attorney roster, we take pride in restoring humanity in the current atmosphere of a highly politicized and unpredictable U.S. immigration policy. Our team of top-notch lawyers is deeply committed to the ethical practice of law and, above all, passionate about immigration and international human rights. Our lawyers are nationally recognized for their expertise in immigration law and have received top rankings from the Washington Post, Washingtonian, The Legal Times, Best Lawyers and Chambers.
This position can be fully remote and is posted nationally.
The ideal candidate is an experienced team player who works well in a collegial and supportive environment, with excellent organizational skills, superior writing ability and precise attention to detail. The ideal candidate is creative, works well with others, has a can-do attitude, knows where to find answers and when to ask questions, and is intellectually curious.
The Legal Writer position entails working closely with the attorney-paralegal teams and communicating directly with the firm’s clients. The Legal Writer conducts legal and factual research and drafts supporting letters, legal memos, request for evidence responses, and other documents, in connection with applications and petitions submitted to US Citizenship & Immigration Services, US Department of Labor, US Department of State and other government agencies.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 4+ years’ experience in immigration legal writing. Excellent organizational skills, superior writing ability and precise attention to detail required.
