Computer and Network Security Engineer

Our team of experienced Windows, Linux, and network engineers is seeking a motivated person to perform continuous computer security and network security analysis of our information systems. Applicants selected must be willing and able to obtain a Security Clearance; therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of the security of our information system
  • Capturing newly released vulnerabilities and determining our exposure level
  • Performing security audits of our information systems and reporting the results to the team and leadership
  • Implementing patches and fixes to remediate identified vulnerabilities
  • Research and develop innovative ways to enhance our defensive posture
  • Perform ethical hacking or white hat activities as a way to research and develop innovative ways to attack our existing systems to ensure protection from unknown vulnerabilities and zero-day attacksRequired Skills and Experience
  • Applying computer security best practices and principles to deployed information systems
  • Applying network security best practices and principles to deployed information systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of system engineering processes and the role that information security has to play in those processes
  • Identifying and correcting vulnerabilities to deployed information systems
  • Penetration and vulnerability testing
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Strong scripting skills
  • Understanding of the OSI model and standard network protocols
  • Subnetting, DNS, encryption technologies and standards, VPNs, VLANs, VoIP, etc.
  • Creating and presenting system security status reportsPreferred Skills
  • Nessus or other vulnerability scanner
  • Configuring network routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Windows and Linux hardening
  • On-call availability
  • Possess an active US Government security clearanceEducation
  • Relevant college degree plus two years of experience, or five years of relevant experiencePreferred Certifications
