GovernmentCIO is looking for a compassionate problem-solver to join our team as an Associate Product Manager building government digital services and working on a team of highly skilled professionals transforming government IT.
We are looking for an IT Practitioner with commercial experience transforming systems and services leveraging concepts in the Digital Services Playbook with a focus on user-centered agile delivery processes. As the Associate Product Manager, you will work closely with partners and cross-functional teams to build the right things, in the right way at all stages of the product life cycle, as well as work with clients to define business goals, identify opportunities, develop road maps, and manage the iterative delivery of new products and services.
This position will be part of our DEVOPS team. GovernmentCIO aims to transform government IT by delivering the technology-related innovation necessary to improve governmental operations every day.
Work closely with partners and cross-functional teams throughout the stages of the
product life cycle.
Work with clients to define business goals, identify opportunities, develop road maps, and manage the iterative delivery of new products and services.
Interface with internal and Government management personnel.
Report to internal and Government management.
Required skills and experience:
Experience shipping more than one user-facing digital product, ideally from conception to launch, in an agile environment.
Skilled at partaking in kickoff workshops, discovery/prototyping sprints, road mapping exercises, and prioritizing efforts with clients and teams. Can influence and guide decision-making.
Superior product judgement - understands when to experiment and how in order to deliver the highest value solutions.
Understands what makes a strong product manager, how to help people grow, and how
to align the efforts of various teams around common goals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; can effectively translate complex issues
for a variety of audiences and lead strategic discussions with clients.
Consistently ensure business is always conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns
with GovernmentCIO policies, procedures, and core competencies
Possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude
Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of experience with requisite education. 8 years of
experience without the requisite education.
Experience in the effective use of data provided by cost estimators to create overall cost versus benefit assessment while considering functional benefits, technical performance, risks, and schedule concerns.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Desired skills and experience:
Working knowledge of USDS playbook and VA Digital Services Handbook
Familiar with tenets of user-centered design and DevOps
